Senior Financial Analyst
A DC based organization with the mission to provide information intended to give people a better understanding of healthcare options seeks a Senior Financial Analyst. This position supports the month/quarter/year-end general ledger close activities, with emphasis on projections, accruals, comparison of actuals vs budget. This position also performs monthly account analysis functions and prepares general ledger account reconciliations.

responsibilities:
? Prepare financial analysis, reconciliations, review accounting records, research transactions and create financial reports. Research and collect data to be used in support of transactions recorded in the G/L.
? Perform routine monthly general ledger closing functions through preparation of journal entries, monthly financial statements, and preparation of ad hoc reports.
? Generate and analyze financial performance data and metrics that reflects organization's financial performance.
? Apply the financial policies and procedures of the organization.
? Assist with year-end audit planning and execution, and other external audits as needed.
? Provide regular and ad hoc reports, and analytics in compliance with GAAP.
? Work and collaborate with other Finance and functional offices in the development and implementation of financial systems, data quality, financial compliance, and external and internal reporting requirements.
? Perform other duties as assigned.
qualifications:
? Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or MBA highly desirable.
? Minimum of 2+ years' experience in a finance, accounting or audit position.
? Team-oriented and quality service oriented professional who is comfortable working with a varied constituency and is effective at communicating.
? Strong analytical and organizational planning skills required
? Ability to think creatively, highly driven, self-motivated, and demonstrates initiative.
? Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, PowerPoint, and Excel (with advanced features including V-lookups, Pivot table, and Macros).
This organization is based in Wash DC and operates on a very flexible hybrid work schedule. It is also offers a tremendous benefits package. Salary is $80,000 - $100,000.
