Equipment Maintenance Technician (1st shift)

The Maintenance Technician installs, troubleshoots and repairs manufacturing equipment and peripheral systems associated in an food processing facility. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of VFD's, PLC's and electric motors or all types. Involving work of a varied nature with minimum supervision. Contributes to efficient operation of plant facilities.

Responsibilities:

Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements and troubleshooting malfunctions

Troubleshoot and locate the source of any mechanical issues

Perform preventative maintenance as necessary

Assist with any building maintenance as needed (water, air, gar, hydraulic, painting, building repair, sanitation procedures, calibration)

Ensure all food safety principles and legal requirements have been fulfilled

Working hours: 5:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Skills:

A strong mechanical aptitude in the safe repair and troubleshooting of industrial production machinery is necessary

The successful candidates must have knowledge and skills required to diagnose, repair, and maintain rotating equipment, mechanical drive systems, high speed converting machinery, and material conveyance systems

Good communication and basic computer skills are also required

Must be able to work various shifts when necessary and additional hours when required

Ability to operate forklift, scissor and aerial lifts

Qualifications:

Individual must possess extensive knowledge of VFDs, PLCs, electric motors of all types, conveyors, gear drives, hydraulics, pneumatics

Best maintenance practices, GMPs, relay logic, CMMS, electrical and electronic concepts with proficiency in reading schematics

1-3 years experience in a similar food production environment as a maintenance technician strongly preferred

Ability to read and follow manufacturers parts and maintenance manuals

Dismantle repair and re-assemble varied proprietary mechanical equipment

Familiar with FDA and USDA regulations
