A Hardware Design Engineer is needed for an American multinational technology company that develops, manufactures, licenses, supports, and sells computer software, consumer electronics, personal computers, and related services in the Redmond, WA area. This role entails leading electrical engineering efforts for surface products, contributing to cutting-edge projects, requiring extensive hands-on design experience, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and problem-solving skills within a fast-paced environment.

work hours: 8am to 4pm

responsibilities:

  • Develops Schematics and BOM to meet the design requirements.

  • Analyzes the design with simulation tools and calculations to verify its conformance to the design requirements.

  • Works with suppliers, contractors, and engineering services to ensure that the product is developed on time with high quality.

  • Collaborate with mechanical engineering, firmware, hardware verification, and many other engineering and design disciplines to optimize the overall system of the product from concept to completion in the factory.

  • Design, build and test rapid prototypes for evaluation of new product ideas or technology concepts.

  • Conducts design/debug investigations and support development, maintenance, failure analysis, and resolution activities.

  • Develop project documentation including specifications, schematic diagrams, PCB layouts, schedules and presentations to meet requirements and communicate the electrical design and its progress.

Skills:

  • Experience in consumer electronics design.

  • Hands-on design experience in analog/digital electronics.

  • Proficiency in high-speed digital design and signal integrity.

  • strong problem-solving and debugging skills.

  • Excellent communication skills.

Education and Experience:

  • BS/MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering.

  • 8-10 overall years of experience in the field.

  • Minimum 8 years experience with designing, implementing, and shipping high volume consumer electronics products of medium to high complexity.

  • Minimum 5 years experience with Hands-on design experience preferred in analog/ digital electronics ranging from: RF, analog, digital, audio, video, power, electromechanical, low power, charging, touch display, and sensors..

  • Minimum 5 years experience with preferred with x86 PC and or ARM architectures and implementation of high speed serial busses (PCIe, DP, USB4, Thunderbolt, MIPI) and high speed parallel busses such as: memory bus (DDR4/5, etc.).
