A Safety Coordinator is needed for a multinational corporation that produces mirrors as well as a variety of construction, high-performance, and other materials in the Peachtree City, GA area. This role entails ensuring facility compliance with health and safety regulations, implementing and facilitating safety programs, conducting investigations, and maintaining documentation, requiring strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

responsibilities:

• Ensure facility compliance with corporate, local, state, and federal health and safety regulations, interfacing with regulatory agencies and divisional personnel

• Implement Annual Health & Safety Action Plan and Corporate mandated plans and objectives

• Facilitate monthly Central EH&S meetings, Contractor Health & Safety orientation, and Visitor Health & Safety Orientation

• Enforce general safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA rules and regulations

• Assist in identifying, analyzing, and controlling occupational hazards, ing professional engineering knowledge

• Conduct facility inspections to detect existing or potential hazards and recommend corrective measures

• Assist in researching, planning, organizing, and conducting safety programs and seminars

• Write material for new safety programs, review and modify existing programs, and recommend changes

• Provide assistance to managers, supervisors, and operators regarding health and safety matters

• Assist in preparing and administering various safety programs and distributing safety program aids

• Schedule and administer Forklift Safety Program and safety shoe trucks for employees

• Support adherence to EH&S Systems by hourly workforce and report all EH&S incidents

• Participate in Incident & Near Miss Investigations to determine root cause and corrective actions

• Participate in the development, understanding, and review of all position Job Safety Analyses (JSA's)

• Serve as Document Controller for all OHSAS documents and maintain various logs

• Schedule internal audits, collect Near Miss/SMAT and Forklift SMAT cards, and enter information into tracking systems

Knowledge & Competencies:

• Associates degree in industrial safety/health/hygiene or (2-3) years of professional plant level experience

• Professional safety certifications highly desirable

• strong problem-solving skills, including investigation and resolution of employee complaints and incidents

• Excellent organizational and cross-functional skills

• strong oral and written communication skills

• High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

• Self-motivated with the ability to make independent, informed, and prioritized decisions

• Ability to work in both individual and team industrial work settings with minimal supervision

• Strict confidentiality in all matters due to exposure to sensitive employee information
