Our client, a leading healthcare organization, is seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join their team. This role is critical in preparing, reviewing, and analyzing financial and statistical information required for the completion of the annual Medicare and Medi-Cal cost report. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of third-party payer regulations and contracts, including Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and non-governmental payers.

Position Overview: The Financial Analyst will be responsible for compiling and analyzing financial data, participating in audits, and developing ad-hoc reports and models. This role requires excellent analytical skills, strong communication abilities, and the capability to manage multiple complex tasks. The analyst will also provide support during various audits and appeals, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare, review, and analyze financial and statistical information required for the completion of the annual Medicare and Medi-Cal cost report.

  • Audit Participation: Participate in audits from State and Federal Governments as well as investigations or focused audits from the Office of Inspector General. Responsible for collecting and compiling data required for various audits and appeals, such as P14 audit, DSH audit, I&R appeal, 340B audit, Medicare Wage Index, and Medicare Cost Report audits.

  • Ad-Hoc Reporting: Develop ad-hoc reports and models to support the financial needs of the organization.

  • Additional Duties: Complete other duties as assigned by the Director of Reimbursement.

Skills / Competencies:

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of third-party payer regulations and contracts, including Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and non-governmental payers.

  • Communication Skills: Demonstrates highly developed verbal and written communication skills.

  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess and evaluate complex financial data.

  • Task Management: Ability to manage multiple complex tasks efficiently.

  • Recommendation and Presentation: History of making recommendations using clear and concise presentations to senior leadership.
