We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Multi-Factor Authentication Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of authentication protocols, specific industry knowledge of providers, and expertise in authentication assurance levels. Proficiency in FIDO, CTAP W3C's, and Syncable authentication methods is essential for this role. The Multi-Factor Authentication Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure and efficient authentication systems to protect our organization's sensitive data and ensure a seamless user experience. Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement multi-factor authentication solutions based on industry best practices and standards.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and define authentication protocols and assurance levels.

  • Conduct thorough research and analysis of authentication providers, evaluating their capabilities, compatibility, and security features.

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in authentication technologies, protocols, and industry trends.

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system architecture, design specifications, and user guides.

  • Perform security assessments and vulnerability testing to identify potential risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex authentication issues, ensuring system availability and reliability.

  • Collaborate with software developers and system administrators to integrate authentication systems into existing infrastructure.

  • Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams and external stakeholders regarding authentication-related matters.

  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of authentication systems.

Drive security engineering conversations for our enterprise IT and business IT teams in implementations. Actively assess existing implementations, identifying security issues and prioritizing fixes.

Qualifications/Skills

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

  • Proven work experience as a Multi-Factor Authentication Engineer or similar role.

  • In-depth knowledge of authentication protocols, such as OAuth, SAML, OpenID Connect, and Kerberos.

  • strong understanding of authentication assurance levels and their implementation in different contexts.

  • Familiarity with industry-leading authentication providers and their offerings.

  • Proficiency in FIDO (Fast Identity Online) specifications and related technologies.

  • Experience with CTAP (Client to Authenticator Protocol) and W3C's Web Authentication API.

  • Knowledge of Syncable authentication methods, including biometrics and hardware tokens.

  • Solid understanding of cryptography principles and secure communication protocols.

  • strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex systems.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+) are a plus.
