job summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Controls Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will support sales with applications and assist in quoting control projects, work collaboratively with team members to find solutions to problems, and stay updated with the latest UL/NEC requirements. This role requires a solid understanding of AutoCAD Electrical 2D, designing various diagrams, and producing detailed layouts and drawings.

Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree in Electrical Technology/Engineering or relevant experience.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in controls engineer role

  • Minimum 2 years experience in designing starters, soft starters, and Variable Frequency Drive panels.

  • Ability to interpret piping and instrumentation diagram

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical 2D.

  • Experience in designing various diagrams and producing detailed engineering drawings.

  • Understanding of NEC and UL508A requirements.

  • Experience in designing various electrical diagrams and lists, including one line/block diagrams, wiring/interconnect diagrams, and cable indexes.

responsibilities:

  • Support sales teams with control project applications and assist in quoting.

  • Collaborate with team members to develop solutions to technical problems.

  • Stay current with the latest UL/NEC requirements.

  • Design one-line/block diagrams, wiring/interconnect diagrams, loop diagrams, IO lists, cable indexes, and wire lists.

  • Produce and check design layouts, detail drawings, assembly/mechanical drawings, bills of materials, and parts lists.

  • Design starter, soft starter, and VFD panels.

  • Ensure compliance with NEC and UL508A requirements (NNNY experience is a plus).

  • Communicate directly with customers to understand and meet their requirements.

  • Interpret piping and instrumentation diagrams for control system design.

  • Ability to create, produce, and check design layouts, detail drawings, and assembly/mechanical drawings.
