Manufacturing Engineer

Permanent position: A reputable manufacturer located approximately 40 miles southeast of Memphis, TN, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to assist their New Product Development team. This Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for developing tooling and fixtures of new products and processes, solid modeling, LEAN process improvement, and determining root cause of failure. The ideal Manufacturing Engineer will have 3+ years of hands-on experience in developing tooling and fixtures of products and processes, previous Autodesk Inventor experience (or equivalent), LEAN manufacturing/Six Sigma experience, and medium to high volume manufacturing experience. A Bachelor's of Engineering or equivalent technical degree is required. Our Client is offering relocation assistance for the right Manufacturing Engineer candidate.

Responsibilities for the Manufacturing Engineer

  • Work with the Tool Room team members to supply tooling and fixtures for new products and processes.

  • Refine and improve processes by applying continuous improvement and key LEAN manufacturing techniques to production.

  • Determine root cause of failure using statistical methods (e.g., SPC, design of experiment) that may result in changes in tolerances, design, or processing methods.

  • Coordinate manufacturing input that will cross multiple teams.

  • Daily use of AutoDesk Inventor.

Requirements for the Manufacturing Engineer

  • 3+ years of hands-on development of tooling and fixtures of products and processes.

  • Solid modeling experience using Autodesk Inventor (or equivalent).

  • LEAN manufacturing process improvement/Six Sigma experience.

  • Medium to high volume manufacturing experience.

  • Bachelor's of Engineer or equivalent technical degree.
