Your Role: As a Controls Engineer in our systems operations engineering group, you'll dive deep into the world of custom automation, mastering software applications, PLC communication, database structures, and system redundancy. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining and enhancing our advanced material handling systems.
What You'll Do:
Lead & Implement: Spearhead projects to implement or modify DC material handling automation systems, focusing on the software control aspects.
Technical Support: Become the go-to expert for software support, providing technical assistance to distribution center users and the PLC controls team during troubleshooting and breakdowns.
System Maintenance: Administer and maintain software on existing automation systems, developing and executing test plans for new applications or modifications.
Optimize Performance: Ensure peak system performance and uptime, especially during critical business periods.
Vendor Management: Coordinate with vendors to manage schedules, costs, and deliverables.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Facilities Services Team to deliver and maintain optimal solutions for our user community.
User Interaction: Engage daily with users to understand their needs, address issues, and monitor system performance.
