job summary:

A Requirement Engineer is needed for a multinational manufacturing company that produces and distributes trucks, buses and construction equipment, as well as marine and industrial drive systems in the Greensboro, NC area. This position entails leveraging engineering expertise and data analysis skills to support the development of maintainability-focused solutions for heavy-duty trucks, involving collaboration with cross-functional teams.

responsibilities:

  • Support Requirement Owner in breaking down/allocation of maintainability requirements to solution areas.

  • Monitor verification and validation of concepts/solutions for maintainability in collaboration with engineering function.

  • Participate in cross-functional teams to support product development in selecting technical solutions meeting maintainability requirements.

  • Conduct packaging and accessibility studies using computer-aided design (CAD - PTC CREO preferred).

  • Perform cost analysis to build product and technology business cases supporting maintainability-optimized concept selection.

  • Analyze vehicle maintenance data to identify trends, patterns, and recommend corrective actions as needed.

Skills:

  • Experience in developing solutions for the transport industry, preferably Class 8 HD trucks.

  • Knowledge of vehicle software (SW) and hardware (HW) architecture.

  • Understanding of heavy-duty truck systems, software architecture, and diagnostic protocols, preferably ISO14229.

  • Familiarity with data extraction, analysis, and automation geared towards engineering solutions.

  • Knowledge of reliability principles, methodologies, and tools preferred (e.g., FMEA, RCM, fault tree analysis).

  • Proficiency in a programming language, preferably Python.

Education: Bachelor's degree in software, electrical & electronic, computer science, automotive, or mechanical engineering.
