job summary:
Global Manufacturer is seeking a direct-hire Product Development Engineer. This position is located near Grand Rapids, Michigan. The Product Development Engineer will conceptualize, evaluate feasibility, design, and develop new and/or significantly improved products.
Salary is commensurate with experience ranging up to $95K, plus an opportunity for a bonus, pension plan, and other great benefits! All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

responsibilities:
Develop and design new products in an efficient and timely manner - scope to include belt fasteners, application tools, light duty belt conveyor products and accessories, as well as belt fabrication equipment
Follow approved product development process to conceptualize, evaluate feasibility, design, and develop new and/or significantly improved products to meet design requirements and features list
Develops technology and product concepts through R&D and other market research activities
Coordinate with tool room to provide direction for, and functional requirements of prototypes, special equipment, and tooling designed for product lines
Define and coordinate both internal and external (field) testing to understand product requirements as well as validate and verify new designs
