Seeking PLC Controls Engineer in the Detroit, MI Area!

As PLC Controls Engineer, you will work directly with the Systems team to perform Software and Systems Development in all areas within the Systems Lifecycle.

You will be accountable for:

  1. Solution Planning and Design

  2. Solution Implementation and Configuration

  3. Solution Development and Customization

  4. Unit/Integration/System Test Plans

  5. Solution Deployment/Validation/Testing

  6. Pre-Sales Support/Estimation

  7. Level 2,3 Solution Support

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Adept in at least two operating environments, programming languages and hardware platforms

  • PLC - Rockwell Automation & Siemens preferred

  • Understands structured or object-oriented programming techniques

  • Skilled in debugging and troubleshooting techniques and tools

  • Skilled in code, code reviews and design reviews

  • Intelligent Manufacturing Specific:

  • PLC and Embedded C Programming

  • SQL RDB experience required to include Queries and Joins

  • JSON and HTTP helpful

  • C# desirable but not mandatory

Working Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years experience in PLC programming

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in software development

responsibilities:

  • Configure and deploy MES Solutions

  • Configure and deploy Partner interface solutions to customers PLC's

  • Contribute to all areas of the System Life Cycle, including analysis, design, code & unit test, debug and system test

  • Utilize appropriate debugging and troubleshooting techniques and tools

  • Execute test procedures to ensure product quality

  • Participate in code, design reviews and assists in conducting code reviews

  • Provide written project status to internal and client management

  • Understands task management and performs task plans well

  • Identify task overruns to management

  • Obtain and define technical requirements and scope for client projects and/or solution proposals

  • Provide estimates for task completion within a project or for technical proposals to potential clients
