responsibilities:

  • Work closely with business leadership, other business units, corporate and platform teams as well as 3rd party experts to ensure a holistic and informed understanding of each market and target.

  • Lead deep-dive assessments on each sub-segment of Discrete & Industrials targeted adjacent markets, including a comprehensive understanding of market size and share, forward growth rates including the impact of relevant mega trends, competitive landscape and dynamics, technological capabilities and differentiation, go-to-market models and customer buying behavior, and potential entry points for the company via acquisition

  • Conduct in-depth strategic analysis of all acquisition targets, both in existing business cores and targeted adjacencies, to ensure the company has a detailed understanding of each business and its place in the broader ecosystem before a target becomes available

  • Analyze and benchmark performance - financial, market participation, growth rates, etc. - of competitors in technology markets to determine potential acquisition candidates

  • Work with corporate team to define the key elements of the "deal thesis" for each active target. Actively participate in due diligence to assess the accuracy of the deal thesis and strengthen focus areas for integration if the company decides to proceed with the target

  • Work with corporate and business unit leaders to establish productive relationships with key targets. Develop a tracking system for the top 50 targets to ensure each one is actively managed by leadership to maximize chances of success if it becomes available for acquisition

  • Create and develop repeatable integration framework for acquisitions - functional and value acceleration teams, report-out cadence/process/templates, and key KPIs to track alongside board plan

  • Present findings to key members of the executive team on a regular basis
