job summary:
An Engineering Project Manager is needed for the world's largest food and beverage company in the Clinton, IA area. This position involves overseeing capital projects, managing facility maintenance and layout design, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and fostering a culture of safety and collaboration within an industrial setting.

responsibilities:
Participate in the development, implementation, and coordination of the capital budget to improve and maintain equipment and facilities (15%).
Lead and manage assigned capital projects, including new equipment installations, plant layout and design, manufacturing automation projects, and maintenance-related projects.
Develop scope of work and evaluate bids for work completion (55%).
Monitor outside contractors to ensure compliance with all company standards including sanitation, safety, quality, productivity, and budgeting (10%).
Possess a working knowledge of engineering environmental activities including air, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and solid waste (5%).
Responsible for the cost schedule and performance of assigned projects (5%).
Understand and comply with all property accounting policies and procedures (5%).
Skills:
Proficiency in computer skills.
Stay abreast of technological trends and procedures through involvement with outside organizations, professional contacts, periodicals, books, seminars, etc.
Timely communication of all aspects of assigned projects.
May be required to coordinate other internal functions, such as the Controls group and Designer.
Works as required with the safety committee and safety management to implement safety suggestions providing a safe atmosphere for the total plant operation.
Education and Experience:
B.S. degree in Engineering or related technical field from an accredited institution.
3+ years of capital project management experience, 1+ years of budget management experience.
Capable of managing the capital budget process from beginning to end.
Thorough understanding of engineering economics.
