We are seeking a motivated Buyer/Planner to join a well-established team in the Billerica, MA area. The primary responsibility of this role is to manage the procurement process and inventory planning to support our operational needs. To be considered for this position you must have prior experience in a Manufacturing environment, buyer and planning/scheduling experience, and experience managing outside services performance. Responsibilities

  • Purchasing: Procuring necessary materials and supplies from assigned suppliers to meet demand and stock requirements. This involves negotiating prices, terms, and delivery schedules to ensure timely availability of resources.

  • Inventory Planning: Strategically managing inventory levels for low to medium complexity products, ensuring adequate stock while minimizing excess inventory and associated costs. This includes forecasting demand, setting reorder points, and optimizing inventory turnover.

  • Backlog Expediting: Proactively expediting orders to reduce backlog and ensure timely fulfillment of customer orders. This involves closely monitoring order status, identifying potential bottlenecks, and taking necessary actions to expedite the processing of orders.

  • Supplier Order Management: Collaborating with suppliers to manage open orders effectively, including tracking order status, identifying discrepancies or changes, and communicating updates to relevant stakeholders. This ensures smooth coordination between the company and its suppliers to maintain supply chain efficiency.
