As a Staff Accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a complete and accurate general ledger while preparing essential financial reports. Your responsibilities will include recording journal entries, conducting variance analysis, reconciling accounts, and providing support to field personnel on financial matters. We are looking for someone with a solid understanding of GAAP, the ability to handle complex cash account reconciliations, and experience working with internal and external auditors. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
3-5 years of accounting/finance experience.
CPA certification or pursuing certification is preferred.
Extensive knowledge of general ledger accounting concepts, practices, and procedures.
Experience with PeopleSoft is a plus.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Highly detail-oriented with excellent multitasking abilities.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines effectively.
Proficient in Excel and other accounting software.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Great work ethic and a collaborative team player.
salary: $30 - $34 per hour

Responsibilities
Ensure general ledger accounts adhere to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Prepare and review journal entries to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Conduct and review account reconciliations for subsystem and GL accounts.
Assist subsidiaries with account analysis and research.
Collaborate on the development of functional specifications for projects and updates.
Participate in testing new processes or changes to existing systems.
Work closely with business analysts and subsidiaries to configure systems for accurate financial data.
Lead audit control testing for subsystem reconciliations and update controls as needed.
Identify and implement process enhancements to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Evaluate trends and investigate variances in account balances.
Generate reports to support accounting activities and management decisions.
Prepare management and statutory reports as required.
Make recommendations to resolve issues and ensure corrections are implemented.
Conduct accounting research as needed and promote teamwork within the department.
