Randstad Finance and Accounting (Tatum) has an amazing opportunity for an experienced and highly talented and dedicated Controller - Accounting. Our healthcare client is headquartered in Atlanta, GA, where the position is located, and they are a patient-focused operator of urgent care centers in Alabama, Georgia, Florida and Maryland. Their centers are open 7 days a week and provide walk-in care for injury, illness, and minor emergencies as well as family care to keep both parents and kids healthy.

responsibilities:

Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, the Controller is responsible for leading the overall accounting function of the company, including the financial close process, financial statement reconciliation process, accounting for fixed assets, real estate leases, taxes and payroll. The Controller also develops policies and procedures for accounting best practices and manages the adherences to those accounting policies. This is an opportunity to be a member of an ambitious and small-knit team to help further grow one of the fastest-growing healthcare firms in the US.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Develops and implements best accounting practices and controls to increase the effectiveness and efficiencies of accounting operations and to ensure compliance with company standards, as well as appropriate federal and state regulatory bodies.

Manages the monthly financial close process, including preparing journal entries, reconciliations and various other account analyses.

Performs analytical review of financial information from the account level to the financial statement level to ensure the information is reliable, accurate and properly stated. Ensures adherence to GAAP. Coordinates audit requests and requirements as they relate to accounting operations.

Supports other departments regarding accounting and reporting requirements, as needed.

Oversees the asset management process that includes the accounting, maintenance, and reporting for fixed assets, real estate leases and sub-leases and property taxes.

Responsible for all non-income tax filings-e.g., property tax, 1099, W-2, W-9.

Budgeting and regular analytical work on the operations of the business, as needed.

Provide accounting support for due diligence and subsequent integration work for M&A activity.

Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies.

Oversees payroll process and reporting.

Provides supervision and leadership to the accounting team.

Reviews invoices and supporting documentation for payment as part of the A/P process.

Other assignments deemed necessary by senior management.

qualifications:

Bachelor's and master's degrees in accounting are required

CPA preferred - expert knowledge of GAAP and new FASB pronouncements

At least ten (10) years of similar experience in a related environment

Multi-site healthcare or retail experience strongly preferred

Knowledge of NetSuite accounting software package strongly preferred

Previous Big 4 or other public accounting experience preferred

Expert level experience in Excel, PowerPoint and other MS Office products as well as strong computer overall skills

Managerial experience is required

Ability to multi-task, organize, prioritize and always meet deadlines

Strong interpersonal and communication skills - ability to work in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced organization

Creative and resourceful problem solver - investigative and analytical skills are required
